The ekitiDigistem project is an outreach program of the Ekiti State Government’s Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. It is delivered by STEMRES Learning Initiative (www.stemres.net) and sponsored by the World Bank through the State Education Program Investment Project (SEPIP). It is aimed at increasing the digital literacy skills of young people in primary and secondary schools in Ekiti State through focused STEM and digital activities.

What is the EKITIDIGISTEM project?
Our Mission
The project targeted specifically at primaries 4 -6 and senior secondary classes 1 -2 has two tracks – digital education and STEM education. Selected schools from the State’s three senatorial districts will participate in this pilot project for an initial period of two academic terms.
The project will particularly address the stereotypical views about science and scientists, gendered delivery of science and digital education in formal learning environments and the narrow aspirations evident among young people. This will be through carefully developed materials, international good practice and research-informed approach to STEM and Digital education.

Numbers don’t lie
Through the DIGISTEM project, we are directly working with 2355 young people aged 7-16 and by working with 1520 teachers, we are indirectly reaching over 10,000 young people.
